Lowestoft Schools

The schools in North Lowestoft are organised on a 'three-tier' system of Primary, Middle and High Schools.  There is a 'designated area' for each school, and children normally attend the school for the area in which they live.  Parents who want to make a case for their child attending a different school should write to the Area Education Manager.

There is a carefully planned programme of meetings between all schools in the Network and we all work closely together to ensure quality education is provided for all children in the area.

    Suffolk LEA Admissions Policy 2008 - 2009

The LEA is responsible for admissions to the school.  Full details of the LEA’s admissions policy are set out in the “Schools in Suffolk 2008/2009” booklet.

    Pupils with Disabilities

The admission of disabled pupils follows careful liaison between the parents, present School and ourselves.  The child’s disability will be taken into account and all potential problems are discussed and examined before a final decision is made.

It is our policy that any disabled pupil of this school will have as full an access to the curriculum as possible and that they will not be treated less favourably than any other pupil.

A number of improvements have been made to provide support at entrances and staircases, easier access doors on toilet facilities for the use by disabled pupils.  Portable wheelchair ramps are available and a lift has been installed to the Year 5 area.

Good access is provide to all areas of the school and its facilities but we shall continue to monitor the situation and provisions.
